Travel 4-days by luxurious bus on the Kola Peninsula and visit interesting cities likeKandalaksha
– the cradle of Russian navigation on the White Sea,
Umba– the old Pomor fishing settlement situated in a beautiful spot on the Tersky
Coast where two bays probe deeply into the land and
Kirovsk – one of the first mining cities on the Kola Peninsula surrounded by the majestic Khibiny Mountains.
Acquaintance yourself with the culture and the unique flora and fauna of the Kola Peninsula during our Polar
Days – when the sun will not set.
Our bus will start and end in Rovaniemi Finland, but on request we can start and end from every city.

Bus excursion tour description: |
Day 1: At 08.00 start from Rovaniemi. Lunch on halfway in military village Alakurtti. First
city on our way is Kandalaksha on the White Sea – the cradle of Russian navigation. Hotel check-in.
Time to have a walk on the cosy central square.
In the evening a good meal, drinks and fine music awaits for you
in a nice Russian restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2:Drive to Umba; the Pearl of the Tersky Coast.
Sight-seeing by feet in Old Umba; visit the Pomor’s Museum and learn
about the old Pomor Culture; visit the craft shops and watch
delightful crafts: wonderful clocks and baskets, adornments and
charms, toys and pictures; and witness - or participate in - plays
and old dances that were composed by the White Sea natives’
ancestors and performed by the Pomor Folk Ensemble of Umba. Lunch
between our visits in a restaurant. After a tasty Russian Shashlyk party
return to Kandalaksha hotel.
Day 3: Sea trip to Labyrinth 'Babylon'.We will boat on the Kanda Bay to one of mystic
artefacts of the area – ancient stone structure Labyrinth dated 2000 years before our era.
The environs of the labyrinth are quite stunning, consisting of islands, sand beach and pine forest.
Lunch cooked on open fire.
Drive to Kirovsk in afternoon. Check-in at a hotel.
Dinner in a restaurant with possibility for playing Bowling. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Adventure in the northernmost and oldest
Polar-Alpine Botanical garden
in the world. Local flora as well as trees and
plants not native to the Kola Peninsula area grow in the
Garden, including a section of jungle in a greenhouse. It
is quite amazing that southern flora manage to flourish
in this Arctic region, with its 24-hour sunlight in
summer and total darkness in winter.
We will walk a special ecological path leads up the
mountain adjacent to the botanical Institute, and
highlights the changes in plant life with elevation.
Drive to Apatity city. Visit to the famous souvenir shop Salma. Lunch in a
restaurant. Afternoon leave for the border at Salla. A basket lunch will be provided. Arrive in Rovaniemi late afternoon.
