5 Days Aurora Borealis - Arctic Winter Adventure (guaranteed)

Aurora Borealis - Arctic Winter Adventure itinerary:

Day 1, 03.01.2018: Sight-seeing Murmansk city
Arrival in Murmansk airport at 09:25 or at 11:25. Meeting at a room of arrival with a name plate and transfer to the hotel Ogni Murmanska, check-in. The hotel is located on a rock above the city and far away from city lights. If there is Northern Light in the sky it is the good place to watch it. Lunch on your own.
At 2pm an English speaking guide comes to the hotel to pick you up for 4 hour excursion in the city including visit to the First nuclear icebreaker “Lenin”.
At 6pm you are back in the hotel. The hotel has SPA possibilities (saunas and a swimming pool). Dinner on your own.

Day 2, 04.01.2018: Excursion to Saami Settlement
Breakfast. At 09:00 transfer to a Saami Settlement situated in a place of traditional reindeer grazing areas. Meeting an English speaking guide. There are some traditional dwellings with floor covered by reindeer fur (Kuvaksa) standing at the place. Several beautiful reindeers are always in the settlement and they like to be stroked and fed by moss and bred. Also there are foxes, polar foxes and rabits. It will be offered to play some Saami traditional games and try your hand at throwing a lasso. You will have traditional Saami fish soup and herb tea Pacula. Saami will offer us to sledge behind reindeers and behind a snowmobile sitting on a big “banana”. Those who like may put on Saami clothes and make photos with reindeers. It is possible to buy reindeer fur, items made of reindeer horns, stones and wood, special northern souvenirs. Then we proceed to Monchegorsk – the next city on Kola Peninsula. Check-in at hotel Laplandia upon arrival around 2:30 PM. Lunch on your own. At 4pm a guide comes to the hotel for 2 hour excursion in the city. At 6pm you are back in the hotel. Dinner on your own.

Day 3, 05.01.2018: Snow mobile safari and excursion in Snow village
Breakfast. At 10:00 an English speaking guide comes to the hotel to collect you for the trip to Snow village where w estart with a snowmobile safari. After changing clothes we get some lesson of snowmobiling. Then we start our drive in Khibiny mountain. We snowmobile via Petrelius valley – one of picturesque places of Khibiny Mountains. The top part of the valley is ended by rocky slopes of Yudychvumchorr mountain which is the highest pick of Kola Peninsula. The best view is opened from the East Petrelius Pass to valleys of rivers Malaya Belaya and Kuniok. After we drive back to the Snow village where you will have an excursion with an English speaking guide. It is a big construction made of snow with ice sculptures and snow wall labyrinths. After the excursion you can have fun sledging down from a snow hill on “a pancake” or on “a banana” behind a snowmobile. There is a cafe where you can have Lunch.
At 4 pm a mini bus comes to collect you for transfer back to Laplandia hotel.
Around 5:30 you are back in the hotel. Dinner on your own.

Day 4, 06.01.2018: Excursion to Siberian Husky farm
Breakfast and check-out. At 08.30 a mini bus comes to bring you to the Siberian Husky farm. You can communicate with the charming and sweet dogs and Northern reindeers. Sledging via the winter forest behind reindeers and Husky dogs will leave you unforgottanable impressions. Later you will have lunch in traditional dwelling named CHUM (like wigwam) and listen stories about Northern nature and local traditions.
Around 1pm you proceed to Murmansk city and check-in at the Arktika hotel upon arrival at 4pm. The hotel is located in the very center of the city. Dinner is recommended in the restaurant of the hotel.
